"so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation." Hebrews 9:28 WEB
On Facebook, I said I would look further into this. My question yesterday was : "Does this mean Christ will return and give a second chance to the unsaved to receive salvation? Or, does this mean his coming for the Christians to remove them from the Earth before it ends (which is a form of salvation too)?"
God said "It's simple. Read it again."
The first time God sent Jesus to sinners. He carried our sins. This particular salvation was set in place and remains today.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
The text refers to Him returning without sin to those waiting. It makes since. He's coming next to Christians. The salvation is removing us from this sinful world.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NKJV) "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord."
